Paint Nites have become all the rage. Usually a chance to try your hand with a brush while sipping on wine and laughing with friends, they are known for their fun adventure. The East Bay Claims Association hosted their first paint nite Thursday evening, August 10, 2017 at Zio Fraedo's in Pleasant Hill, California. A larger than expected crowd turned out for an assortment of generous appetizers, a canvas, paints and brushes of their own, and instruction from Candice Tubera. Sponsored in part by SRI Environmental, Paul Davis Restoration, and The Pack-Out Company, great fun was had by all, with varying looks and talents taking shape for each.
In light of the recent and shocking death of one of the industry's brightest, Cathrin Nevin - a painter herself - the EBCA Board elected to donate the nights proceeds to the children of Ms. Nevin. A tribute is scheduled in her honor at the September Claims Conference of Northern California, as well.
On this night, the crowd celebrated life, and made the most of their own abilities.
